Michael Parker Walshe commenting on him and the NRL in a Townsville Bulletin article on 14/12/2015:
Newspaper from the future!!! That's some damn good sauce, didn't grab a glance of the lotto results by any chance?

If MPW is injured I would like to see:

1. Murgha
6. Coote

Morgan is still likely to be playing for us this weekend. DCE has 10 days to recover. If DCE plays but Morgan does not get to play for us - just as an injury backup I will be pissed.

Murgha is a specialist fullback who is contracted to the Cowboys. And Coote has played 5/8 in the past for Penrith.

It's a bit insulting to make a suggestion based on sound logic and then get called a troll.

An SOS to Mango.... :p lol

Actually, I would not mind having Mango registered on a $1 contract (if they still exist) prior to June 30... maybe there is some bad blood from the way he was cut, and maybe he loves England, but I would love to have Mango in the squad, even if he was willing to play a bench role as a back-up for Granville.

I think Coote is too valuable at 1 to move him.

I think he could play as one of our dominant halves in attack and still be in the number 1 jersey.

Hate to burst your bubble but Mango is not the starting fullback at Wigan at the moment. He's well past it.

I just don't want to see dumb makeshift options. e.g. Wright at fullback. He is a centre or wing.

I was advocating Mango as a squad player.... a utility (who could fill in for moments like this). I think there would be too much politics... so I don't think it would happen

He isn't a makeshift option, he has played a lot of fullback, it's even listed as his first choice position on his player profile.

For a one off game during Origin, makeshift is what happens.

You don't promote a part-timer who has never played a game of NRL, solely on the basis of "that's their position".

Between MPW and this latest one, you seem to be very obsessed with creating some sort of "fairytale" story of a part-timer making it into the NRL.

I agree with Dream. We shouldn't move Coote from fullback where he has found some form. Our backline (1-5) is unaffected by Origin and should be left alone. We should be looking at the big picture. They are doing well and should not be tinkered with.

He has played his best NRL on the wing at both the Sharks and Cowboys.

MPW is injured, not expected back for another 3 weeks
But if the Cowboys were serious about winning the 'game they are most likely to lose' this weekend, they would get a medical team in who can repair the damage in a couple of days.

You know it makes sense! If they don't it's clear the Cowboys have something against MPW!
