Al.most every day. But the updates could count but surely not amount of Data. Anyhow, whatever the reason Telstra tells me my new modem arrives tomorrow.

Plus, I will be more security conscious from now on.

Sorry Moggy.

I have given an update. But it must have been in other threads, I will have to go back and check, we all got caught up on the Porn angle and that sort of disorganized the conversation.

FOR MOGGY.

Summary of Kayo Sports.

I have had a two week trial and have had 1 week of paid subscription. To me, I am totally impressed and a thumbs up.
However, their are a few things you have to keep in mind, but the two week free trial should indicate fairly accurately if the service is for you.

The biggest, and as far as I can see issue is the quality of your Internet. That is the Conundrum. If you have a dodgy internet like we have in the Gold Coast Hinterland that can swing wildly from ok to crap depending on weather conditions and how congested your server is that might be the deal maker or breaker.

Because it is streamed, I doubt the quality would be as good as on Fox, but when our internet is good ( around 7 ) for us, the quality of the stream is excellent, almost as good as the TV. My mobile speeds differ wildly here too from 5 to 33. on my Samsung 5. My daughter on her Iphone gets around 66. My laptop wi fi speed appears to be about 1 mpbs higher then wi fi through my mobile.

This variation caused me to reconsider our internet, landline, and Mobile providers. We switched all three tat were with three different providers back to my nemesis. TELSTRA. One of the main reasons was that if I had an issue I could sort of stop their tactic of blaming the other providers for their own incompetence or worse.

On a few cases I have had to use the telecommunications Ombudsman to sort out some issues that were being passed from one company to another. I have always had a successful outcome from the Ombudsman and it appears the Telco have a lot of respect for it then the Banks have. Strangely wit all the thunderstorms we are having I normally expect our phone and internet to be at risk. Since switching back to Telstra that has not been the case.

But, that really has nothing to do with Kayo, but I guess they go hand in hand. One thing that is important is your Data usuage . I find a game takes a minimum of 2gb, so switched over to an unlimited plan. I also increased my Mobile data for those times I need to use it. But those are only personal issues I had to deal with. Most likely, you have been down that road and hav e it all sorted out. I am a bit of a Luddite when it comes to IT.

Good luck get a free trial and I think you will not be disappointed. Plus you will feel like an honest man not having to watch those dodgy streams which have got more dodgier and full of viruses. But dealing with Murdoch and Telstra is a vipers nest and is a full time job initself.

Just checked the Manly- Tigers game. It froze on my ADSL2 and when I tethered it to Telstra mobile my speed was 3.4mpbs. for a minute or so. It now is about 5,5 which means I can watch the Cowboys but gee. At least I get to swing a baseball bat when the Federal Election comes around. My daughter is not here to check her Telstra iPhone speed plus I would be tethering to her phone.

Thanks for the detailed info, I'll give it a go. I have fttp & unlimited so not really worried about that side of things.
Can you stream to a laptop & then tether that to a TV?

I'm on Optus cable, and it's crystal clear HD via my Chromecast.

I could see the filings in the Tigers fans few teeth.

Signed up to Kayo for the nrl, running it through the app on my TV. No stutters, picture is perfect, looks just as good as the HD channels.

(We have shit hot internet so can't comment on how it would go in backwards areas)

I signed up tonight & watched it on my desktop PC, I'll try & work out how to get on my TV(s) during the trial.
Initially the pic was low quality, but did get better (it may be my internet as have some issues lately & think i need a new modem/router thingy)
Just exploring the program & looks like there is all the Fox league shows available, which i like (and if i can get it on my bedroom tv winner winner).
I think at $25 its on the touch expensive side, but realise there is a lot of additional content (though not likely i'd watch most of it).
Anyway if i can get is sorted for the Tv(s) then i'll probably stick with it for this season at least

Thanks for all you guys putting in your two bobs worth. It is pleasing to know how consistent it is. I had to watch the game tonight tethered to my mobile.

While not 1oo% brilliant it was more then watchable. If it was two other teams, maybe not so.

Beaves.

I am sorry to say this to you. I do not know your particular financial circumstances and it does not bother me unless you are going through a particular tough financial episode which most of us go through before we get through to the other side.

At certain times in our lives even $25 over our budget appears like $25000. That is life or as Ned Kelly put it " Such is Life "

yep. So don’t mention it on here then is my retort mate.

Some of us are locked into binding contracts with foxtel paying much more than the $25 fee for Kayo, but we’re not having a sook about it now that this new service has surfaced the last few months.

Unfortunately luxuries in life cost money, getting to watch the boys play on TV is not an automatic right.

With what’s provided by Kayo for $25, I think it’s a bargain. And if you wanna make it even more affordable and halve the price, share the cost with a friend and have a device each hooked up. $12.50 a month.

Beaves.

You misunderstood the point I was trying to put....... Yes, '...…. $25 for Kayo is a fantastic offer. But gee, their was times, ……. way back when ,,,,,,,I would have nearly killed for another $25 so my kids could play another sport or even to buy school shoes.

At this point in time, I can do what I like. We have an overseas Holiday or Cruise each year but, I can tell you, I have been down some dry gullies as well.
