It has come to my attention after my unjust banning, that this forum has quite the problem with people who voice opinions that are different from the flock that frequent on here.

Unfortunately the majority of the administration team (bar probably Jordan) have allowed the soy boys who cannot handle different views, to dictate what can and can’t be said on here.

Many posters on here who offer great insight and knowledge have been banned because of voicing opinions and thoughts that the flock don’t agree with, and become an agitated, emotional rabble likened to what we see on US college campuses.

People like paulo, Joshpryor, Napoli etc have all offered a lot to this forum and create good discussion points, however are rotting in forum jail due to the administrators on here bowing down to the masses and getting rid of them.

How does the flock on here function in society? What do they do in a pub when they have a difference of opinion with another punter? This has to stop in order for this forum to thrive.

I am calling for the administration team to start moderating the forum fairly, and cease letting the flock on here dictate who can speak, and what can be said. I also ask to let the likes of Paulo, JoshPryor and Napoli out from forum jail on probation. These men are good posters and offer variety on an otherwise and for the most part stale forum.

Has society as a collective become so precious and limp wristed that we cannot handle a difference of opinion? If you don’t want to see someone’s views on here - place them on ignore, it’s really simple stuff.

I hope the powers that be on here take this seriously and make some of the changes I am calling for, for the betterment of this entire forum.

Long story short - people are not and have never been banned for dissenting opinions. It's universally due to disruptive behaviour like excessive personal attacks, derailing threads with off topic rubbish or clogging the forum with excessive repetition. To my knowledge, in my time here nobody has ever been permanently banned without multiple warnings and opportunities to change.

This place was substantially more peaceful and enjoyable over the past week. It's not pleasant to come and read page after page of pointless, circular arguments and personal insults.

I'll also point out that one of the three people you singled out still posts here under a different name. Nobody has an issue with it because they have changed their behaviour and contribute to the conversation.

after my unjust banning
I can see you've learned your lesson...
What do they do in a pub when they have a difference of opinion with another punter?
Usually something like this:
1. You didn't learn anything new yourself but you shared your ideas with somebody else, who in turn was able to learn something and possibly change their view, giving you the satisfaction of educating another.
2. You learned something new and it caused you to change or develop your own view, giving you the satisfaction of knowing more than you did before.
3. Neither side changed their views but they were able to understand each other enough at the end of it to appreciate that the disagreement came down to a difference of preference or perception, not an issue of fact, giving you the satisfaction of peace and tolerance.

However, you are incapable of achieving this. Instead, you use your wilful blindness and incapacity to understand logic to drag the argument into a series of distractions and fallacies until any direct connection to the original discussion is lost. People who actually attempt to employ reason and address points in some kind of coherent manner are left stunned as you return fire with playground insults and ad hominem attacks.

Bass Player is one of the main culprits in feigning outrage and carrying on like a gender neutral college student during on campus protests.

You apply none of those steps you list to the way you conduct yourself on this forum. In fact it’s quite the contrary. If I’m engaging in a respectful debate with someone, I will always use facts to back up my argument. It’s when I back my arguments up, often about uncomfortable truths about the club that people are reluctant to acknowledge and speak about, that the flock start taking pot shots from a far and attempt to discredit my integrity as opposed to attacking the argument.

I’m not looking to start a one sided slanging match that leaves you with egg on your face. I am asking for the administrators to conduct a proper, mature review how they are going about things with regards to adjudicating on the forum, and possibly releasing some of the posters who sit in forum jail, who like me, are only guilty of having unfavourable opinions to those that are a part of the flock.

Is Joshpryor banned? I though he left. Napoli still posts here and has for a while.

Has society as a collective become so precious
I know right. These "soy boys" can't even handle being banned for a few days on an internet forum without writing a novel about it.

I am told Josh Pryor is banned, possibly due to a disagreement with Dream of some sort. Unsure of the finer details, but he is a good poster.

I will cop my medicine if the punishment is par for the course. I was banned for derailing a thread, which was the recruitment/retention thread where I was discussing Ethan Lowe’s departure this year, as well as other former players who we allowed to leave. How that is derailing a thread dedicated to the topic I was discussing I’ll never know.

Saw something mentioning personal attacks too, which is quite ironic considering a number of personal attacks against me in the weeks leading up to my banning went unpunished. It is clear there is separate rules for different people, and I am asking the administrators to be adults and review a few things. How Paulo is not allowed to post on here is beyond me. Anyone who didn’t know his situation could be forgiven for thinking he posted child porn on here or some other heinous act. #freepaulo

This is incorrect. The flock on here view a differing opinion as disruptive behaviour, where as in normal society nobody bats an eyelid. It appears personal attacks are allowed on this forum, it’s just dependent on who is using them, and where they are directed at. I was banned for derailing the recruitment/retention thread while I was discussing Ethan Lowe’s departure as well as many other former players. That is not derailing a thread dedicated to recruitment and retention. That is stating uncomfortable truths that the flock on here do not wish to acknowledge, and certainly do not want to hold the club accountable for. It is the flocks response to these truths that become disruptive. I have no problems with their responses. But if you want to run a tight ship, be fair to everyone, and don’t play favourites.

This place was substantially more peaceful and enjoyable over the past week. It's not pleasant to come and read page after page of pointless, circular arguments and personal insults.
Well duh. The flock got what it wanted, I was banned. Nobody is forcing you to come on here and read my posts. If you don’t like them, put me on ignore. I have contained some of my controversial opinions to the relevant and appropriate threads such as the recruitment/retention thread, and Prince Ernsts retention thread. I am not going into match day threads or anywhere else posting things that are not relevant to the topic of conversation or thread title. You and others don’t like my opinion, therefore you and others forum experience trumps my ability to voice a simple opinion.

I'll also point out that one of the three people you singled out still posts here under a different name. Nobody has an issue with it because they have changed their behaviour and contribute to the conversation.
What about Paulo? Dream promised him at the start of the season he’d eventually be allowed back on here. The season is nearly over now and he’s still yet to keep his word. Paulo still regularly reads this forum despite being silenced, because he loves footy and enjoys talking about it with like minded people. It’s absolutely baffling why you’d want to turn that away from here.

Josh Pryor was another one. Really good poster that has allegedly gotten on the wrong side of Kim-Jong-Dream via a particular PM exchange and was banished without a trace.

"The people against me are abnormal sheep."
It appears personal attacks are allowed on this forum
No. That's why you were banned.

No matter what the ban message said, you weren't banned for your opinions, you were banned for your appalling attitude towards others. There's no arguing your way out of that. You have to either realise it and change or keep spending weeks on the sideline.

I'm not sure whether you've noticed, but there are a few of your posts I've liked; you're obviously smart and amusing with some posts; but mate, you are Gila-Mosby-ing your way out the door. Stay on the field, it's better with you than without. I love a good argument, you just gotta lay off the man and lather the leather instead.

Looks like Bass Player is auditioning and has put his hand up to join the SS (StampedeStaffel).

The only thing that can possibly be construed as a “personal attack” is when I called somebody a dolt, and then a space cadet. Now if this is the nanny state environment we want to have on here, and are determine such words as worthy of a ban, then all I ask for is consistency. There have been personal attacks flung my way in the last few weeks that have gone unpunished. I personally don’t have a problem with them, but if you’re going to make rules at least be consistent when applying them.

My attitude towards members on this forum is completely fine. I am courteous to all. I don’t deny anybody the opportunity to speak. I’m not vulgar, nor do I go out of my way to disrespect anybody. The flock have taken exception with some of my more controversial point of views, and how convincing some of my points of view have been. I have a decent knowledge base on footy, and have a lot of confidence in what I say, that I believe some of our more emotional posters on here interpret as arrogance. If I constantly went around playing the man and not the ball then fair enough, that’s unacceptable. However, all I do is give my opinion on here, and converse with those who respond to it in a respectful, yet confident manner.

@Dream any chance of responding with regards to a more fairer approach to moderating on here moving forward, as well as releasing paulo and JoshPryor from forum jail. They’ve been punished long enough. Give them a probation period if need be.

Fanboy.

You've just come back. Why don't you give this stuff a little rest? The moderators give up their own time to do this I think. If they didn't do this, there wouldn't be a forum.

Give up there own time to do what exactly? Click a ban button, or move a couple of posts to the rubbish tip? Let’s not make out that it’s some painstaking job that requires one to give up their own personal time to do.

Paulo is still awaiting his hearing in our 'No fault stand down' policy. Hopefully he's cleared to return in time for next season.

JoshPryor had an unfortunate incident at a casino and has received a life ban though unfortunately, so he wont be back.

What did Josh Pryor do to Dream to warrant a life time ban? I have heard whispers that Dream baited him in a private conversation, and JP retaliated? Ban seems quite over the top given he appears to be a decent bloke on the main boards, especially if Kim-Jung-Dream baited him.

I believe Paulo has spent enough time on the sidelines. Hopefully he can be released back onto the forum ASAP.
