You forgot golf and AFL. Maybe KP might even give the NFL or NBA a go lol

I'd have gone with golf tbh. A lot easier on the body, can play a long time and a whole lot more lucrative. I wonder why Andre decided to go with NRL. I'm sure he'll cover it in his autobiography one day.

Anyway, I'll be doing everyone a favour by not being able to watch this game live. This should ensure a solid performance and possibly a win.
It is remarkable, this works every damn time.

Exceptional performance, hard to add to all the words already said by fans and Paul Green's comments at the press conference.

However, as a well known critic of Maclean's, I thought it appropriate to add that it was finally great to see him hitting the line hard and getting through the advantage line. While it makes me wonder why he has not done this so far during his time with the club, I can only hope it leads to more consistency from him. It is plainly evident that the better clubs have dominant front rowers, and no coincidence that a good team performance comes when he contributes at a level he is paid to do.

So many more positives to come out of the match. Hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did!

I was at the game and I can say that I saw nothing from Ponga that showed me that we made a mistake not matching Knights offer for him. Hammer, far more impressive at this stage of his career. Constantly talking in defense stood out. It's much easier for the players with their skills to shine in offense, but Hammer also looks to have it in defense guiding the team around.

This kid is special!!!!!!!!!
That is a great report to hear. For a young bloke to have the confidence to talk like that at the back is very good signs.

Another quality he seems to have is time and awareness. He is an eyes up footballer and is making very quick and good decisions.

Anyone remember what time of the game Robson pulled off two try saving tackles in a row on our try line? I wanna see it again.

I agree.
He is a baller, can he move 1 spot in and go to 2row. He just makes things happen and needs to be on field, just not sure where.
Just don’t understand the obsession people have on here to move perfectly good centres to the second row. Centre is one of the toughest specialised positions on the field. Why would you want to move a good one away from that position.

Bit out of left field but maybe Opacic could be our bench utility. With Robbo playing 80 minutes Opa can cover the backs and also play a potential Rod Jensen type role in the forwards. He plays with a lot of energy - I think he could make an impact if used correctly.

Rocket had speech. Opa doesn't. Though, I agree this could be a good idea.

Unless Marsters gets moved to back row, Opacic to 14 to take Hamptons role.
1. Val
2. Kyle
3. O’Neil
4. Marsters
5. Hamiso
As nice as it looks on paper, Marsters and Hammer together is a defensive liability at this stage.

Everyone wants to see Hammer in the team, but it's probably right that he's used a bit sparingly at this stage of his career.

Why does he need to be used sparingly. The more he is out there the better he will get!

Marsters still has to show he can put the effort in he did on Saturday as standard, not just when he is under pressure from the coach.

Unfortunately we have run that argument to death about our young players. Hamiso is too far gone now to go back, it is all or nothing now. I do not know what way Green will go. I suspect the option of playing Opacic as a Rod Rocket Jensen is as good an option as any when Val is back.

It might just keep the boys a bit more focused when Morgan is ready. Cooper is really on borrowed time.

Clifford also made two of the same. Taumalolo stopped a couple.

Everyone was defending like trojans.

But that's more down to Green's poor record on bringing youth through than what's actually best for the player. There's a middle ground between him playing every game from now on and being forgotten about for the majority of the rest of the season.

It's pretty standard for 18 year old backs to be used sparingly in their debut season. He could continue to improve the more he's out there, or he could end up getting his confidence knocked. It's not like he's playing in a successful side most of the time at the moment.

Hammer got his first start as a winger, but was quickly thrust into fullback, where he's acquitted himself pretty well. If Val is back, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to pull him out for a couple of games to give him a break and a chance to reflect on his first run of first grade games, rather than putting him back on the wing up against either Ferguson or Sivo.

Really enjoyed yesterday's game. Great to see them play with so much passion. Games are on really early over here in the UK on Saturdays. The cowboys games can make or break your weekend depending on the score!!!!
Big test of chatacter this week against the Eels.

Not for 18 year olds deemed to be special talents.

Darius Boyd - 27 games in his rookie season in 2006 - and won a GF.

Israel Folau - 27 games in rookie season.

Nik Cotric - 24 games.

Jarryd Hayne - 16 games in rookie season.

With all due respect, you are talking out your arse mate. If Hamiso is as good as we all think he is, he should be playing a lot of games this season.

Agree
Barring injury, Hamiso plays FG for rest of season.

Josh Hannay played 21 games as an 18 year old, for the Cowboys..Inglis played when 18-Hamiso, is nearly 19.
He is going to face big men every week-Sivo and Fergo are just the start....what if he is able to bring down big Sivo, 1 on 1-i reckon he could do it-people surprise you. I like that 1 on 1 tackle he did the other week-gives you confidence he could manage it on one of the big guys.
