This is the game that brings Newcastle back in to form.

Well we are the team for it. Sharks had lost 5 in a row before they beat us as well. Can break a losing streak our boys.

Games like this they should play that 2015 Rise Up song as our team of plodders make there way out onto the field. This season is as bad as that awful song.

it’s still better than the ‘cowboys are my team’ naff.

‘Cowboys From Hell’, now that’s a run out song I could get behind. Shame the whinging nanas in the crowd would have a massive whinge about it.......

The 'Cowboys are my team and it's my dream to see them at the top' is perfect for our current narrative of being perennial strugglers.

You wouldn't see the Storm or Roosters with a song like that.

I'd love to see them use a song with a bit of fire and energy for the opening of the new stadium:

* black out just before kickoff
* spotlight on the players standing on a stage at the north (open) end of the stadium behind the seats
* players walk down the aisles through the crowd and onto the field
* fans go apeshit
* Titans recover a dropped kickoff to score the first points at the stadium after 20 seconds

It’s a pisstake song though, that’s the problem with it. Fine at the end of a game when everyones had a skinful and they’ve won, it’s not something you want the boys running onto the field to imo.....

NRL team list: Round 22 v Newcastle
Cowboys.com.au Tue 13 Aug 2019, 03:55 PM

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys vice-captain Jordan McLean has been named to return from a calf injury for Saturday’s showdown with the Newcastle Knights at McDonald Jones Stadium.

McLean was a late withdrawal from Paul Green’s team to face the Broncos in Round 21 after picking up a minor calf complaint at captain’s run.

The 27-year-old will have a new front-row partner in Matt Scott, who has been named to start in place of the suspended Josh McGuire.

Jordan Kahu will also make his injury return, coming on to the wing for Gideon Gela-Mosby.

Kahu has been on the sidelines since suffering a facial fracture against the Roosters in Round 17.

Young gun Reuben Cotter has been named to make his third NRL appearance. The talented dummy-half will start from the interchange alongside forwards John Asiata, Scott Bolton and Francis Molo.

Peter Hola reverts back to the reserves after a promising NRL debut against Brisbane and is joined by fellow forwards Tom Gilbert and Corey Jensen as well as outside back Murray Taulagi.

It's like we haven't got the memo that the season is over yet. Would've liked to have seen Hola stay in the team after last week. Cotter is only there because McGuire got suspended.

GGM's mistakes cost us the game last week so I can see why he is gone though.

Green's press conference was shit. "Centre isn't Hess' position long term" - then play someone else there. "Robson can play as a lock/extra middle" - can't wait for his 10 mins a game. Injuries are the only way new players will get a shot these last few games.

Good to see Reuben back at least. Although Green did say he'll see how the game pans out when it comes to his minutes, so you can bet it'll be under 15.

I'd like to see the Cowboys use Enter Sandman as their walkout song. It would stick it up the Blues as well if the Cowboys were to use it every home game. It would get the crowd pumped.

Life at the Outpost is the perfect song to hear after a win!
