A bit concerned we'll get a touch-up here but we do tend to lift for this

All form goes out the window for this one. We're a good chance.

Only issue is Brisbane wanting to bounce back from disgrace. If we get physically dominated like we have for most of this season, then they will run away with it. Forwards have to stop being pussweeds.

My thoughts on this week's team (Greeny doesn't care what I think):

1. Molo will be starting for McGuire. The extra game time in Q Cup was a signal that he needed to show he could play more minutes. He did.
2. GOATbert will be on the bench with Scott, McGuire and Hess. Sorry Asiata fans.
3. Tuala will replace Hess in the centres - because playing centres in the centres is a good strategy. Neither the left or right side will get early ball though. Let's not get too far away from our highly successful gameplan.

Now that my fantasy is over, 1-17.

What I expect to see from Green:

1. Jensen
2. Molo
3. Hess
4. Wright
5. Gilbert
6. Asiata
7. Hola
8. McLean
9. Granville
10. McGuire
11. Cooper
12. Pere
13. Lolo

Don't laugh, he might actually do it.

Even with Greens obsession with big men, Jensen still wont be selected

Granville should at least be in that line up 3 times.

A string of impressive performances in the Queensland Cup has earnt winger Gideon Gela-Mosby an NRL recall for the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys’ XXXX Derby clash with the Brisbane Broncos at 1300SMILES Stadium on Thursday night.

Gela-Mosby hasn’t featured in the top grade since suffering a collar bone fracture against the Titans in Round 12.

The 22-year-old returned to action through the Queensland Cup with the Northern Pride in Round 18, averaging 137 running metres, a line break and three tackle breaks across two games.

Gela-Mosby replaces fellow youngster Murray Taulagi, who drops back to the Queensland Cup after a promising start to his NRL career.

The remainder of Paul Green’s side remains the same with skipper Michael Morgan named to make his second appearance back from a concussion.

The only other changes come on the reserves, with forward Peter Hola replacing Tom Gilbert.

Hola and Taulagi are joined on the reserves by middle forward Corey Jensen and hooker Reuben Cotter.

Thursday night’s game kicks off at 7.50pm.

Cowboys team to play Broncos:
1. Scott Drinkwater
2. Kyle Feldt
3. Coen Hess
4. Tom Opacic
5. Gideon Gela-Mosby
6. Michael Morgan (C)
7. Jake Clifford
8. Josh McGuire
9. Jake Granville
10. Jordan McLean (VC)
11. Gavin Cooper
12. Shane Wright
13. Jason Taumalolo

Interchange
14. John Asiata
15. Matt Scott
16. Scott Bolton
17. Francis Molo

Reserves
18. Peter Hola
19. Reuben Cotter
20. Corey Jensen
21. Murray Taulagi

I know we are short of players thru injury, but this is essentially the same side that has lost.. what 5 from 6 at a guess? And got pumped by the Tigers. Shake shit up Greeny, kick a towel in the change room or a chair on the side line. Play Lolo at 5/8th if you have to.
We can't make the finals, we can't carry any momentum into next season with ageing forwards moving on. Maybe we have another block play this week to use? CAn't wait to see it used poorly 8 times each half.

I agree, why drop taulagi, Hess should replace Bolton
Taulagi has looked outmatched physically in the NRL imo. Prob does need some more development.

Murray could have played centre, playing Hess there is stupid unless we are planning to move him there permanently.

No Gilbert is expected but still disappointing

I’m pretty much a toe in the ‘We need another coach’ brigade pool. I’m not diving into this pool head first but my patience is running very thin with these team selections.

That's a really disappointing team. Thought Gilbert was a real chance of getting a debut. No idea what Green is doing. Have to start building for next year but he's continuing his conservative approach like he believes our season isn't over.
