Not a bad looking team. Although I would like to see Cotter on the interchange. Failing that, maybe another back, GGM?

Bingo! Only question would be whether Tuala plays on his preferred right edge with Opacic switching to left or if the excellent combo is kept on the right with Tuala playing out of position on the left.

I suppose the benefit of switching would be experience on both sides, not two players in their rookie season playing together.

Reckon they will stick with Hess in the centres. To be fair to him he played well, but it's a ticking time bomb having him defend out there

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys captain Michael Morgan will make his return from a concussion in Thursday night’s clash with the Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval.

Morgan has been named at five-eighth by head coach Paul Green for what will be his first appearance in Cowboys colours since Round 14.

His return sees John Asiata move back to the interchange after a three-game stint in the No.6 jersey.

Coen Hess holds his spot in the centres after impressing during his first career performance in the position against Cronulla in Round 19.

Winger Kyle Feldt failed to return in the second half of the Cronulla clash due to a failed HIA, but is set to take his place against the Tigers after suffering no setbacks undergoing concussion protocol this week.

Asiata is joined on the interchange by forwards Matt Scott, Scott Bolton and Francis Molo.

Highly regarded 18-year-old forward Tom Gilbert makes his first appearance in Green’s 21-man-squad. Gilbert has been in superb form for the Townsville Blackhawks in the Queensland Cup this season, sitting inside the top 15 for both run metres and tackles.

Gilbert is joined on the reserves by forward Corey Jensen, hooker Reuben Cotter and outside back Gideon Gela-Mosby.

Thursday night’s game kicks off at 7.50pm.

Hope Tommy G can sneak onto the bench ahead of Bolton.

Tuala seems to be really out of sorts at the moment, stats wise he's had a couple of strong Q Cup games in response to being dropped.

Tuala has been going very well in the Q Cup - but he plays right side which is our only settled combination with Wright-Opacic-Feldt killing it. Surprised he doesn't even make the 21 though.

Lingering scepticism about Hess aside this is about as strong a team we can field IMO.

Result doesn't matter but hope to see overall improvement. Echo that Gilbert would be nice to see but I doubt we'll see it this weekend.

He played well on the weekend. He looked strong, alot stronger than he has in the NRL

Dare I say it...... if a few games in this weekend's round go our way.... the Cowboys could be sniffing around the bottom of the top 8?? Does the peaking start now with the return of Morgo? Trying to remain optimistic after the last couple of games.

I believe the Peaking started awhile back. But, unfortunately because of the setbacks the team has had we are not seeing it as a team but as individuals there is improvement.

Morgan being back is huge as it should help in taking the pressure of Clifford and allow him to play his natural game. With a slight release of the pressure it may help him with his goal kicking. I do not think we have another kicker in the side.

All in all it’s been a pretty lacklustre season from Morgo. Hoping he can finish the year strong. No way his output has matched his pay packet this year.

Morgo hasn't had a few things go his way. Injuries, playing out of position, team generally not clicking, different halves partners. Despite all this he is still equal fourth for try assists. I think that is pretty impressive.

I have said it before, I think he and Drinkwater sing from the same hymn sheet re: attack and they will compliment each other enormously.

Disclaimer: Big Morgan fanboy.

Might be time to promote Cotter and one young forward to get some experience for next year. It also allows veterans like Bolton and Scott a chance to mentor other fringe players back in QCup.
