Another tough test here, hope the boys are up for it. Souths are incredibly resilient and a step up from the Roosters even with their patchy form of late.

Our resilience in defense was generally quite good apart from that one wing combo. Clifford needs good defenders with him.

We now need to get better in taking our chances and putting on the points.

What in the name of Feldt is on in town this weekend? Hotel rooms are harder to come by than an injury update from Cows HQ

Will be interesting to see if Green keeps the same 17 or if Murray comes in for Bowen.

I think Javid has to go. This is a good time to blood Taulagi - he should be high on confidence off u20s Origin selection, the team just had some wind pumped into the sails and we're at home where he can get a good preparation and his family can come along to see his debut.

Hope Green pulls the trigger.

Twenty-year-old winger Murray Taulagi will become North Queensland Toyota Cowboy number 282 after being named to make his NRL debut against the South Sydney Rabbitohs at 1300SMILES Stadium on Saturday night.

A 99kg outside back, Taulagi joined the Cowboys prior to the 2017 season after starring playing schoolboy rugby union for Brisbane State High School.

A 2018 Junior Kangaroos representative, Taulagi will make his NRL debut despite being in just his third full season of rugby league.
Taulagi replaces Jordan Kahu, who is sidelined with an Oribital Floor fracture meaning Javid Bowen moves from the wing to the centres.

John Asiata will again play five-eighth, although skipper Michael Morgan has been named on the reserves as he continues to progress through concussion protocol.

Coen Hess and Matt Scott have again been named on the interchange after making successful returns from injury against the Roosters.
Morgan is joined in the reserves by hooker Reuben Cotter, prop Corey Jensen and centre Dan Russell.

The match will also double as a celebration for Cowboys life member Gavin Cooper, who played his 300th NRL game in last Sunday’s win over the Sydney Roosters on the Central Coast.

Saturday’s game kicks off at 7.35pm

Pleased to see Taulagi was named but Javid in the centres is very concerning considering his weak display on the weekend. Souths can definitely blow us up down that edge if their halves get their running game going.

Dan Russell on the extended bench, wouldn't be upset if he got a crack in the centres.

Looks like Morgo is some chance to play as well.

I'd imagine Morgo will play for sure. In his interview on the official site he said he felt he could've played last week.

Great to see Taulagi get a shot. With Russell on the extended bench it looks like Tuala has gone way down the pecking order. I guess he didn't have much opportunity to stake his claims last week in a 50 point loss though.

Is it just me or did Bowen look super skinny on the weekend?

Him and Tuala need some plodder training.
