Results were pretty favourable for us over the weekend. Can’t help but work out where we’d be sitting had we not dropped our last two home games under questionable officiating.

Probably need to win 7 out of our last 9 to scrape into the 8. Rorters (a), Souths, Cronulla (a), Tigers (a), Donkeys, Newy (a), Penrith, Dogs, Melbourne (a). Tough run home, hard to see us winning 7.

Would love for us to be still a sniff heading into our final 3 games. 2 winnable home games and a clash against a Melbourne side probably playing for nothing given the minor premiership will have been wrapped up by then. A side playing for their season coming up against a side playing for nothing with one eye on being fit and healthy for the finals bodes well for us.

I really don't know how we're going to go in this one. Roosters seem a bit up and down lately but we're mostly down.

We'll give em a good nudge though, that's for sure.

Not expecting much, but would like to see us continue building as a team. Would be disappointing to get blown out.

Whoever is defending on Mitchell's side better be on their game, he looked better last weekend & if nsw win on Wed, I reckon he would be filthy at missing out & out to prove a point.

Just got curious and had a look at coops wiki page, if it's correct it'll be coops 300th this weekend right?

Fox Sports are reporting we are "hopeful" Hess and Scott will be back for this one.

Personally I think we would be mad to bump Wright for Hess after last weekend.

NRL team list: Round 17 v Roosters
Cowboys.com.au
Tue 9 Jul 2019, 03:55 PM

Gavin Cooper will become the 37th player in premiership history to appear in 300 games when the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys lock horns with the Sydney Roosters on the Central Coast on Sunday.

Cooper is just the second player to celebrate the milestone as a member of the Cowboys, following long-time teammate Johnathan Thurston, who reached the 300-game mark in 2018.

A Cowboys life member, Cooper is in his 11th season in North Queensland and sits fifth in appearances and seventh for tries in club history.

Josh McGuire returns to the side after missing Round 15 through suspension and will line up in the front row alongside vice-captain Jordan McLean.

Fellow Queensland star Michael Morgan has also been named to back up from Origin and will partner Jake Clifford in the halves, while Javid Bowen replaces Enari Tuala on the wing.

Matt Scott has been named to make his return from a shoulder injury from the interchange, joining fellow forwards John Asiata, Scott Bolton and Francis Molo.

Coen Hess is also a chance of making an injury return of his own. The 22-year-old hasn’t played since picking up a knee complaint in Round 14, but has been named on the reserves for the Roosters showdown by Cowboys head coach Paul Green.

Hess is joined on the reserves by hooker Reuben Cotter, prop Corey Jensen and outside back Murray Taulagi.

Sunday’s game kicks off at 2pm.

Hopefully the Scott benching is permanent. That bench is rather heavy without Cotter, hope we see him back in because 80 minute Granville is a worry.

I hope Bowen is just named there for a sneaky Taulagi debut, though probably unlikely because he's playing on Wednesday.

I'd prefer Tuala moved to centre over bringing Bowen in, who has been just as bad, if not worse this year.

Cotter in for Bolton would make an ideal team, I think Hess could use a couple games in qcup. Especially with Wrights form as of late.

I'd still prefer literally anyone over Bowen.

Scott and Bolts come on, McLean and Lolo off, Moose to move to Hooker, Asiata to Lock I'd say or something equally silly.
