Round 4
Townsville Blackhawks

Tom Opacic (73 mins, 13 runs, 132m, 37 post contact, 9 tackles, 0 missed, 1 error, 1 sin bin)
Justin O'Neill (9 runs, 101m, 31 post contact, 3 tackle breaks, 14 tackles, 3 missed, 1 ineffective, 1 error)
Tom Gilbert (55 mins, 14 runs, 152m, 52 post contact, 2 tackle breaks, 33 tackles, 0 missed, 1 penalty conceded)
Sam Murphy (41 mins, 3 runs, 4m, 1 offload, 19 tackles, 2 missed, 1 ineffective, 1 error)

Gilbert will play first grade this year. Good performance by Opacic, apart from getting binned.
Gilbert was really good, the way our forwards have been playing he would have to be in the mix.

Cant really blame Opacic for his sin bin in some respects. Just saw his team mate hit with a dog shot and retaliated. Did a great tackle late on the Burliegh lock, almost broke him in half!

Opacic has been charged with grade 1 striking. Interestingly MPW copped a charge for 'detrimental conduct', whatever that is

Whatever that is? There's a video of it :) . I think it's officially defined in the NRL Law Book as: "being an antagonistic, weasley wanker". If I were coach, I'd sit him in the stand for a fortnight.

I think we could do worse than have a look at Purcell from Ipswich. He is a bit of a cross between a young Greg Inglis and Addo-Carr.

Did MPW steal your girl? Have noticed a personal vendetta from you towards him.

Then I suggest you lift your evidence threshold, this isn't the sort of conclusion one should draw from the one opinion, about the one incident, expressed consistently, three times.
I say he behaved like an antagonistic, weasley wanker, not because he stole my girl, but because he behaved like an antagonistic, weasley wanker.
He stole my girl because he's younger, fitter, better looking and richer than I am.
Get it right.

That’s a harsh burn but he did walk right into it.

And again

Two Cowboys earn Q-Cup Team of the Week honours
Cowboys.com.au Tue 2 Apr 2019, 05:45 PM

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys duo Tom Gilbert and Enari Tuala have both once again been named in QRL.com's Queensland Cup Team of the Week.

Blackhawks lock Tom Gilbert earns his third nomination in the opening four rounds of the competition, running for 152 metres and making 33 tackles in Townsville's 16-10 win over the Burleigh Bears.

Gilbert currently leads all forwards in the competition in run metres (670) and sits fourth in tackles (133).

Meanwhile, centre Enari Tuala has been named for the second week in a row after scoring a try, running for 209 metres and making nine tackle breaks in Northern Pride's 28-16 loss to the Ipswich Jets.

Tuala has the second most tackle breaks in the competition through the opening month (25), while also running for the sixth most metres (606).

Some nice stats there. Looks like Cotter is doing great after such a long time away.

Does Q Cup track minutes played? Would be interested to see how much game time Cotter is getting

Yeah, they don't have the minutes up for last night's game yet though. Cotter's played 50, 33, 35 and 43 this year, so about 40 mins per game.

Shane Wright and Tom Gilbert in the top 10 atm for Player of the Year. Wright is in equal second, looks like he's improved massively on last year.

Peter Hola must be closing in on an NRL debut. First time I have this thread in ages and his figures for such a young guy are eye brow raising.
