QRL awards presentation will be streamed live on qrl.com.au tonight from 7pm for anyone interested. Clifford an outside chance at the Petero Civoniceva Medal (player of the year) but will probably fall just short. Should be the favourite for Rookie of the Year though.

QRL Gala Awards tonight
QRL Media Wed 29 Aug 2018, 05:20 AM

Stars of the future Jake Clifford, Harry Grant and Kotoni Staggs will vie for the inaugural Petero Civoniceva Medal at the QRL Awards Gala on Wednesday night in Brisbane.

The trio, who appear destined for bright NRL careers, will be up against seasoned veterans in a wide-open field for the best-and-fairest player in the Intrust Super Cup.

The function at Brisbane City Hall – to be live streamed from 7pm on QRL.com.au - will also see the naming of the Stage and Screen Travel Services Team of the Year, the Hastings Deering Colts Under 20s Player of the Year and Mal Meninga Cup Player of the Year.

Other honours to be bestowed include the XXXX Representative Player of the Year, the Harvey Norman Women's Representative Player of the Year and the Pedro Gallagher Award for Rookie of the Year, presented by the Carbine Club.

The Struddy's Leading Point Scorer and Struddy's Leading Try Scorer will also be confirmed, along with official presentations for the minor premiers and club champions.

A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of three special community awards – the QRL Volunteer of the Year, the QRL Women in League Achievement Award, and the QRL Grassroots Club of the Year.

Aside from the 7pm live stream on QRL.com.au, preceded by a 6.15pm teaser on Facebook Live, further insights from throughout the night will follow on QRL Media's digital channels on Thursday.

He should be given it based on his performance in origin alone this year.

Jake finished in 3rd in Player of the Year polling, despite missing the last 8 games of the year:

Nat Neale (30 points), Harry Grant (28 points), Jake Clifford (19 points).

He probably should've picked up Rep Player of the Year as well considering he was man of the match in Qld under 20s first ever win, while the winner came from the losing Qld under 18 team but whatevs.

Also, we should sign Harry Grant.

Have a spare single seat to Saturday's game if anyone wants it. Send me a message.

Forgot I had this game as my membership away game and the ticket turned up after I had already bought others.

Can't believe this day is here, going to be very surreal at full time to realise that JT is no longer a Cowboys player.

It wasn't supposed to end like this. Still can't believe it's his last game. Everyone that didn't get offered a contract for next year it's essentially because they f****d JT's last season.
