Jake Clifford back in at halfback after missing the last two weeks. He was named last week as well but then ruled out, so hopefully he plays this week. Cody Maughan is out, so Ryan Lloyd starts in the second row. Logan Bayliss drops off the interchange and into the reserves with Peter Hola coming back into the side.

Cronulla is a very good side and have the potential to put up a score if the boys aren't careful. Theyve scored 382 points, the most in the competition. They're 2nd, with 7 wins and 2 losses. They havent lost since Round 4 and managed a draw against Penrith in Round 7. A few of their key players are Blayke Brailey, Billy Magoulias and Sione Katoa. Brailey might be just as good as his brother, he's the Sharks main point of attack from dummy half. He leads the comp in try and line break assists (both 14). Magoulias is a workhorse with a great offload, averaging 3.2 a game, the most in the competition. Katoa is similar to Greg Leleisiuao from Parramatta, very strong runner who breaks a bunch of tackles. He's equal first in tries (10) and first in tackle breaks (112 for the year, 11.2 a game).

Boys lost 40-24. Going off twitter, they lead 14-0 and then lost Clifford to injury, Sharks came back and made it 16-14 at half time. Fought back after the break to lead again but Sharks got back in front 28-24. Then Corey Horsburgh got taken off on a stretcher and the Sharks ran into two more tries in the last 10 minutes. Calum Gahan also came off early in the game, not sure if he returned. Hopefully nothing serious for Corey and Jake.

I think our Thursday game last round has been the only one shifted this year and that was because it was being played at Belmore not ANZ.

Ok cheers. Just had a recollection that last year monday games werent played (played earlier on the weekend) due to the youngens schooling and work and such, thought that would apply to Thur as well....but then its just as likely I could have imagined the whole thing too....

Probably more likely if I'm honest....

Some stat lines from Thursday's game. Not the best reading. Only one forward (Horsburgh) made over 100 metres and we missed about double the tackles Cronulla did.

Corey Horsburgh (53 mins, 18 runs, 158m, 1 offload, 28 tackles, 3 missd)
Michael Carroll (1 try, 11 runs, 138m, 1 line break, 1 try assist, 14 tackles, 1 missed, 1 tackle break)
Kurt Wiltshire (11 runs, 135m, 10 tackles, 4 missed, 3 tackle breaks)
Kalyn Ponga (2 tries, 10 runs, 132m, 1 try assist, 1 offload, 11 tackles, 5 missed, 9 tackle breaks, 1 line break assist)
Murray Taulagi (13 runs, 131m, 3 tackles, 1 missed, 1 tackle break)
Nathan Traill (1 try, 6 runs, 110m, 1 line break, 6 tackles, 3 missed, 2 tackle breaks)
