Sorry to hear about your injury Ty, best of luck mate, get well soon (don't rush it). Strange that he was playing the Storm when this happened, and being a Innisfail resident. (was there a Larry on the field?)

from a story in today's Townsville Bulletin
http://townsvillebulletin.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,7034,18614006%255E14793,00.html
QUEENSLAND winger Ty Williams has given up hope of returning to the State of Origin arena this season after being ruled out for three to four months with a badly broken leg.
Williams will have surgery today to have pins inserted in his lower left leg after suffering a distal fracture of the tibia and fibula, both bones in the lower leg, during Saturday night's 40-8 thrashing of Melbourne.
and also
In-form back-rower Jacob Lillyman also received some bad news after suffering a torn lateral ligament in his right knee which is likely to sideline him for several weeks.
Cowboys doctor Greg Winter said Lillyman would have precautionary MRI scans today to ascertain the seriousness of the injury.
Winger Neil Sweeney was another who failed to finish the game after suffering a back injury.
Winter said Sweeney's condition would be assessed at the team's medical tomorrow along with injured hookers Aaron Payne (neck) and David Faiumu (groin), who were both unavailable for Saturday night's clash.

Oh, no... that's terrible news. I wouldn't be surprised if Ty is gone for the season.

Me too...God knows how many times I stuffed my ankles playing and refereeing Touch Footy at Queensl Park over the years (although I don't do that anymore)

Looks like its the worst case scenario for Tybo. And bad news about Lillyman as well. Two guys in some great form, we could do without loosing.
Any other year and it would have been disasterous, but thankfully this season we have some great depth. We could do without loosing too many more to long term injuries though! (Touch wood we dont get any injuries to our halves!!)
Looking forward to the next few weeks, i'd assume Bluey to the run on side for Bull (Webb to bench), BB for Sweens & Hannay for Tybo. Hope either or both Mu & Payney are back this week.

Bummer, that is bad news. All the best to Ty though in a speedy recovery. Hopefully someone can step up in his place and take their opportunity.

distal which means jack all...i'm guessing he has a spiral fracture (messy break caused by twisting forces; it's a common sports fracture).
