Hindmarsh making quick recovery

PARRAMATTA star second-rower Nathan Hindmarsh says he's a "50-50" chance of overcoming his knee injury in time to play in next week's preliminary NRL final.

Hindmarsh was carried from the field minutes into the match against the Broncos two weeks ago after damaging the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee following a Brett Seymore tackle.

"The knee's feeling good today, and I'm seeing the doctor tomorrow so we'll see what happens," Hindmarsh said.

Speaking from the Eels training session in Terrigal this afternoon, Hindmarsh said his team was ready for next week's preliminary final against either the Cowboys or Storm.

"We don't have a preference between the two sides and it will definitely be a hard match for us regardless," he said.

Last week the Cowboys were thrashed by the Tigers by 44 points, and the Storm will be without star full back Billy Slater.

In their match-ups this year the Eels beat the Cowboys by 38 points in round 9, and beat the Storm in round 6.

If Hindmarsh is cleared for next week Parramatta will be fresh from a week off and at full strength.

If not, Daniel Wagon is expected to fill the position again.

"He's (Wagon) the kind of player you like to have in your team.
"He's a hard worker and he doesn't miss many tackles," Hindmarsh said.

Hindmarsh has gained a reputation as an `inspirational forward', which the Eels will need if they are to beat the Storm or Cowboys.

Parramatta has not made the grand final since 2001 where they went in as favourite but lost to Newcastle.
