I have watched a few fights, I have a lot of mates who are obsessively into the UFC.. I love Shogun though, just cause of beating Machida haha.. Should have won the first time.

Either way George is underated and should be praised more for his fights.

There was one stage where they cut to the dressing sheds and for a split second I thought Lesnar was a gorilla, the shape and size of his head is seriously one of a silverback gorilla.

Anyway it was an awesome awesome card, probably the best of the year so far. The rumour going around is that Georgie will get the loser of Penn/Edgar or Florian/Maynard (both fights at 118) and that will be for a title shot. The winner of Florian/Maynard is next in line though. If he wins I hope they can bring it over here, I would love to see a title fight live.

Also for anyone interested Dream 15 was yesterday and had some pretty good fights. Shinya Aoki submitted Takajiri with a vicious leg lock, he couldn't walk afterwards. Gegard Mousasi won as well.

Anyone catch UFC 117? I thought it was a pretty awesome card, the headliner was Silva vs Sonnen. Sonnen really took it to him and probably won all 4 rounds until Silva pulled out a slick triangle submission halfway through round 5. Sucks for Sonnen I suppose. There were some other pretty good fights on the card as well, dos Santos won himself a title shot with a decision over Roy Nelson and Fitch did the same beating up a visibly exhausted Alves, who apparently had a really rough weight cut and came in half a pound over.

There are some really good cards coming up as well, there is an awesome WEC card not too far away and then Penn/Edgar II with Couture/Toney as co-main event.

Yep, BJ got beat down, there's no doubt about that. I don't think he'll hold the belt for long though, he'll probably drop it to Gray Maynard in his next fight. I know he did well against Penn but I don't think he has the wrestling to get up from under Mayard or the submission game off his back to trouble him much.

Also George Sotiropolous has signed on to fight Joe Lauzon next at UFC 123, should be a great fight they are both beasts.

I'll have to take a look at this UFC/MMA stuff, have heard it is legitimate and better to watch than Boxing or Martial Arts. I used to enjoy watching the Boxing on free to air years ago, Leonard V Duran, Ali v Foreman etc etc but the $h1t you see these days isn't worth watching. I watched the Green v Mundine bout at the pub and was bored stupid after the 3rd round neither would last 30 seconds against the likes of Ray Leonard/Hearns/Hagler or Duran.
I would like to see Paquaio v Mayweather, I think they are both decent fighters and it would be a good contest and spectacle.

Boring main event, GSP wins the decision but for mine he could have stopped the fight at least 6 times and didnt take the chances, tough bastard fought with a loss of vision in one eye but before that happened he could have stopped the fight plenty of times.

There are still some good boxers kicking around Thommo. Pacquiao, Mayweather, Marquez, Martinez, Klitschko boys etc are all phenomenal examples of modern boxing, shame none of it gets promoted in Australia other than Pacman and local boys like Green & Mundane (who are fairly poor compared to the best fighters in the world, i.e. look at the Mundine-Ottke fight).

GSP fight was pretty boring... I don't want to knock him for not finishing because Sheilds is one of the best fighters in the world, but damn for a world title fight it barely held my interest. Undercard was much better than the 2 title fights for mine.

I must of missed the George Sotiropolous fight. Silva has to retire soon, he can't take the punches anymore. Also missed Tito's fight, that big head b@stard finally won something in 5 years. First time I've seen Cruz fight, he is really unorthodox. Faber is good, thought he'd beat him for sure.
