Origin II (Brisbane) Tickets on Sale MONDAY 20 March!!

If you want to go, get in very early for tickets.

Last year for Game 1 in Brisbane I got 2 tickets at about 10.30 am the day they went on sale and most of them were gone at that time and it was a sellout before the end of the day.

Be prepared for a nice long lineup at Ticketek, Central Station Leesee. I queued there for Origin tickets a couple of years ago. The queue was huge. I was 16th in line and by the time I got to the front the best I could do was the very back row of the northern stand.

I'm currently trying to decide whether I should go down to Melbourne for game three or not. My heart just keeps screaming YES!!!! but my head is trying to think logically about it all. Game three is July 5th .... I am required to start 3 weeks of prac Monday the 10th. Three weeks (more than likely) out of town therefore no cash coming in .... HOWEVER!!!! I promised my cousin i would do another trip to melbourne this year and i have just taken on a second job which pays pretty good money so im thinking the heart is going to win out. Since my cousin lives down there I basically face only expenses for the game and general spendings. My birthday is about a month beforehand so i could organise for one part of the trip to be paid for .... i could look out for flight sales for the other way ..... i think i just may make it!!!! I have to. Its not fair otherwise. I want to see Melbourne again and I REEEEAAAALLLLLLLYYYYY want to see an origin match live. I say i stop all my spending right now and Im going to be ok. YAY!!!! lol. damn this concept of money.

Tickets Limited to Six Each

THE QUEENSLAND Rugby League will reduce the ticket limit to six (6) per customer when general seating for Game II of the Harvey Norman State of Origin goes on sale Monday.

After a review of ticketing operations with agent Ticketek, the QRL has opted to reduce the maximum number of tickets per person for each credit card or cash transaction.

Previously, a customer could book up to 10 tickets per transaction.

With this year’s June 14 showpiece at Suncorp Stadium the only match of the Harvey Norman series played in Queensland for 2006, the QRL wishes to ensure as many fans as possible have access to their desired seating.

“We’ve witnessed a trend emerge in recent seasons in regards to a number of individuals monopolising seating or on-selling tickets mainly through eBay at exorbitant rates,” QRL Managing Director Ross Livermore said.

“We dealt last year with people who cornered 200 seats for themselves and that’s clearly not on.

“Rugby league receives wide support from all areas of Queensland and indeed Australia, and we won’t be seen as condoning any form of inequity in granting public access.

“There may be genuine rugby league fans affected as a result of this six-ticket limit, however it is a position we have been forced to take in the greater interest of all supporters.”

Tickets will be issued by Ticketek only after clearance by the QRL of the purchase transaction.

In accordance with the new limit, anybody caught in breach of the conditions will have their order cancelled automatically.

Tickets to Game II of the Harvey Norman State of Origin series go on sale at 9am sharp on Monday, March 20 from Ticketek outlets, online at www.ticketek.com.au or by phone on 13 28 49.

I'm feeling game 3 might be more worth the effort. I've done SoO in both QLD and NSW - might try something different.

Would be better if the QRL would give up one of the 2 allocated games in QLD next year to hold it in NQ. It would sell out heaps quicker then the Brisbane games do.

Fans snap up Origin tickets

March 20, 2006 - 6:04PM

Rugby League fans have rushed for tickets to the second State of Origin game at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium.

Only 3,500 of the 52,500 tickets remain.

Some 14,000 tickets were snapped up from special outlets in the first 90 minutes on Monday morning.

Queensland rugby league officials have decided to hold back 500 tickets for north Queensland fans trapped in Cyclone Larry's path when it crossed the coast.

They'll be released through the usual outlets at a date to be announced.

The opening game of the series will be played at Sydney's Telstra Stadium on May 24 with the return game in Brisbane on June 14.

The final game is booked for Melbourne's Telstra Dome on July 5.

Queensland, with former Origin great Male Meninga at the helm, will be out to avoid becoming the first state to lose four series in a row.

More Origin Tickets On Sale

THE Queensland Rugby League will be releasing all restricted viewing seats for Game II of the Harvey Norman State of Origin series at Suncorp Stadium at 2pm, Friday, March 24.

These can be obtained from Ticketek outlets, online at www.ticketek.com.au or by phone on 13 28 49.

The maximum limit of six tickets per person and per credit card/cash transaction still applies to these seats.

Any person who has already reached this ticket limit in the first release of general seating last Monday is precluded from purchasing further tickets.

Breaching the conditions of purchase, which are spelt out clearly on the Ticketek website, will result in an order being cancelled automatically.

Tickets will not be available until cleared by the QRL. Up to three weeks should be allowed for this.

Early next week it is proposed to release about 2000 seats that were ordered by persons who breached the conditions of purchase in the release of seats last Monday.
