Wow just checked the updated odds for Priemership winners and the Cowboys are now favourites at $6.50! From memory, coming into round 1 they were back at about 6th place. Hope the boys can handle carrying the favourites tag.

Favourites after one game? :whatthe: If we loose next week do we go back to 6th favourite? This favouritism thing is a pretty pointless exercise until the backend of the season. There's plenty of water needs to flow under the bridge before we even make the finals let alone win the damn comp! :fingerscrossed:

The thing that the guys will need to improve on this season is their consistency. Even though we made the GF last year we didn't manage to string more then 3 consecutive wins together. Given we are likely to be hit hard in player & coaching staff thru SOO we need to build a points buffer before SOO 1. There will be some tired boys come the finals.

The problem with being favourites is that not many favourites have won the comp lately. Just look at Parra & St George.

Yeah you have to laugh when the CEO of CenterBet said last week that he thought that the TAB's price of $2.30 on the Cowboys was high and that they would offer about $1.80, then they ended up offering $2.20.... I wonder how much TAB and CenterBet lost on that game....

Just wish I had gone in and had some dollars on the boys............

We're not gunna get that sort of price again for awhile. I'm glad I took it while it was offered. Probably have to link the boys to add value in multiples now.

Winning wager
THE Cowboys have a lot of fairweather friends these days. Blokes who bagged them relentlessly for years now speak about them as though they shared the same umbilical cord at birth. But one Townsville bloke who has supported them through thick and thin had a wager with the TAB on Sunday that they would win by 13 or more points. He pocketed a lazy $2000. He went down for the game and it's no wonder he stopped for a steak and a lager or three at the Brekky Creek on the way from Suncorp Stadium to the airport.

I can tell you it wasn't Roo (although I am partial to a large punt), it was however, a very good friend of the Stampedes. I hear the said punter can only recall very limited parts of the afternoon once the "cows came home".

Good onya mate :thumbright:
