Well after todays games how the hell does Muzz select the firsts team for next week ?? Who does he drop to the guns and who gets promoted ?? Does he need to change anything ??
I thought Matty Scott was awsome today and Lillyman went well too, so what does he do with Webb ? sounds like Charlie had a good game today too. Searg and Tronc went well and I really can't find to many faults with anyone except maybe Firman who seemed a bit rusty or nervous, maybe McConnell should get his chance ?? I don't know but I like the position the clubs is in this year. I would have liked to see the Guns game to get an idea of how Tanielu and Cashmere went, after reading Granty's post it sounds like thay all went well. Anyway it's great to see the results and I can't wait till next week. Congrats Cowboys and Guns, and by the way I didn't see or hear of any injuries either so hopefully we are still at full strength.

I only saw the main game but didn't see much I'd change.
It's a long season. Those in the Guns need to bide their time and be ready when their chance comes.

So what did you make of Firmans efforts today Nqboy ? I thought he was down a bit on form, maybe just nerves, I don't know.

There were signs of Billy having sorted Firmo out over the off season...

Yeah Bernster, I was expecting him to a better game than that. Only early days yet though I suppose.

I think we should continue to persevere with Firmo.. he didn't have the best game today, but he didn't do anything overly wrong that could have cost us. I think he's a got a lot of potential.
He set up our first try with a step and a good pass to Matt Sing.. You know who that reminded me of? It reminded me of Andrew Johns. His season in 2003 was brilliant, I still think he's capable of that form and we will see it sometime this year.

I thought his defence had improved a fair bit aswell.

Yeah, now that you mention it he did defend well. So did Scotty, his hit on Stagg was a beauty, can't wait to see him in tandem with Webb,Bluey and LOD..

Maybe one of the lairs from the Bronco's painted a spider on the ball today?
Firman looks fit, and will be all the better for a run today. Sweeney went well, although there must be a huge temptation to find room for Hannay. Carl Webb must be spewing though at how well the forwards went today... there's no room for him this week.

I thought there Defence was pretty spot on, much like it was at the end of 2004... they all started out a bit rusty, but got into the swing very quickly, Payne was brilliant he was every where... I would even have to say that they all look a ****load fitter as well... Yeah would hate to be Muzza next week, they didnt even look like they missed Webby or Hannay.... and as Rauhiwho....
I bet TAB and Center Bet are both going to have a rethink about offering such big odds on the Cowboys again this year, just spewing I didnt get to getting some cash on them this weekend.

Scotty has come on really well, he was the bravest runner on the field, contantly running head first into the line - fearless.
Lillyman is also worth a mention...last year he still looked like a boy playing a mans game, but after another off-season he has really beefed up and looks like he's ready.
I thought Firman did his job. Remember with a side also containing Payne, Bowen & Thursty, the half is not going to get the ball as much as Johns does and frankly I think that is a good thing. He looked a lot more comfortable out there and hopefully he kicks on...of all those players, he is most in-experienced and nobody becomes a world beater overnight.
It is good that McConnell apparently had a good game in the 2s - keeps the pressure on!
After this result I've developed a twitch - the corner of my mouth keeps turning upwards all by itself with a frightening frequency....aghh it is such a great feeling beating the Donkeys...we REALLY should do it more often!

As Firman created the first try, I thought "That's why I rate him." Moments like that, and his big hit on some behemoth Broncos forward later on, give me hope for the future.
I obviously didn't watch it closely enough, carried away by all the excitement I guess, but I didn't see hime do too much wrong. One thing you've got to allow is for your playmakers to commit errors. They handle the ball more often and are trying things, they're going to make more errors than a prop tucking it under his wing.

The thing is that we can afford to let come along because of Mango & JT :thumbright:

I wonder if it were you who I listened to screaming !!! bloody well done ! My son and his little mates were proudly flying the flag for awhile there and I too yelled more than once.It was bloody brilliant !! aLL these drongo supporters sitting quietly, mumbling to themselves and crying in their drinks !! One old boiler, not far from us, cried loudly for about 5 mins towards the end of the game and the boys started paying out on her. I couldn't stop laughing long enough to pull them up in time and she roared at the kids to shut the hell up !! She got put in her place fairly quickly though. Geez that was a good feeling though, sitting there in full Cowboys gear, the kids waving the flag and yellin " Go Matty, Go Matty !!" and the boys belting the drongos clean off the field. Unbelievable I've got tears of joy runnin done the old cheeks now just thinking about it.
