Wizard Cup on the Radio Waves
EASTS Tigers tragic Peter Psaltis will be at the helm when Radio 4BC kicks off its revamped coverage of the Queensland Wizard Cup this weekend.
Willing the Tigers on for their first Cup crown, Psaltis will recap details of each game from Round One on Sunday from 5-6pm.
Listeners in Brisbane can tune in on 1116am, while users worldwide can access a live feed off the internet at www.4bc.com.au
The show will feature regular guests each week, including coaches and players from all Queensland Wizard Cup teams.
Psaltis said he was looking forward to reinvigorating the station’s links with Brisbane’s grassroots sporting community.
“I’ve been a long-time supporter of local football, being a regular at Langlands Park supporting the mighty Tigers,” he said.
“My voice actually disappeared after calling the 2004 extra-time Queensland Wizard Cup grand final. Of course, sadly Easts were beaten that day by the Bears.”
Psaltis has been with 4BC since 1998, specialising in rugby league for the past four seasons.
The end of daylight savings in southern states will see the show revert to Saturdays from 5-6pm.
