interesting selections there, must say it is suprising to see webb and jensen missing. Might be giving webby a kick in the pants eh for the efforts on the training paddock (according to billy j)??? very suprising though.

Great to see Lillyman & Scott rewarded for good their trial form. No Webb, looks like Billy's got a job to do!

i am not a fan of sweeny, would have much much preferred to see Smith in the centres than Sweeny on the wing. Jensen is normally the bloke who gets us going when we are in a lull, and than mango finishes them off, i don't like games where Jensen is not in our side. Very surprised to see Lillyman starting, but understandable considering bluey's shoulder and Smiths illness.
Lillyman deserves his spot he has been outstanding in the trials.

lilly yes i agree with, but i think that sweens was from left field, what about putting Jensen on the wing?? he is the 2nd quickest at the club, but Muzz knows what he is doing, if we lose, then back to the drawing board, if we win, awesome.

Sweeney is not spectacular but he has never let the team down before. He is a good defender and finishes off tries effectively.

Strong bench, other than that...hmm.. I would've had a different side. Good to see Sweens in there. Met him down in Mackay when I was at the clubs after the game. Seems like a good guy- more down to earn then a lot of the other Cowboys (not as high profile I suppose).

haha, yeah...and a cigarette as well. lol.. I was drunk and I'm like 'hey, you smoke eh' and he goes 'I cant give up'. Then I go "ah..you're just a winger anyways", and he laughs and calls Singy over and they're talking about how they don't get enough ball.
...not as bad as Shannon Heggarty though, who was smoking this big ass cigar. heh.

That's an interesting lineup put out by both teams. I'm a bit worried with our forward pack to be honest - Ra was the engine room of our team and hopefully people like Sarge and Tronc will take on more of a leadership role up front or else we might struggle going forward this year.
I have a feeling the match itself will come right down to the wire, with 1-4 points deciding the Queensland derby.

I really like the lineup alot.
I can totally understand why Webb is out and as far as Rod Jensen goes well it was prolly gonna be him or Sweeney and I'd prefer Sweens cause like someone said his never let the team down.
Really glad that Lillyman got picked in the starting lineup that's great to see.

I think Muzz might be doing a Bennett !!! I smell smoke screens.......Wait till game day and start with a different lineup altogether......................
If that is the line up then I am surprised that Rocket hasn't been named somewhere in firsts, I would have thought that he was a certainty.
I have no idea what is up with Webb, just hope there is no serious problems and he gets back into firsts quickly.
Still can't wait till saturday though, should be a ripper !!!

Hey Thommo, I think you'll enjoy the Sunday game more. If you turn up on Saturday you'll have to sit through the Reds vs Force Super 14 game.

NOOOOO!!! Not Tony Archer! Ahem anyways...
I don't know why Sweeney was picked ahead of a guy like Brenton Bowen. When he plays for the Young Guns he is constantly the best player for them and he has never let anyone down for the Cowboys side when he played. I remember his intercept in the Panthers game when it was tight.
I just consider Brenton a better player IMO and I thought he deserves a go after he stayed loyal when the southern clubs were putting big bids on him.

I wonder if Webb's omission has anything to do with an internal disciplinary matter.

Yep, agree... Sargent isn't proven as a starter. I would've been a lot more confident with Webb on the bench.

I think it more to do with a leg injury (quadricep?).
Although, if they think he's 100% don't be surprised to see him miss the Young Guns game and play against the Broncos :bom:.

It mustn't be that serious or he wouldn't be playing for the Young Guns. I'd say it's supposed to act as a wake-up call for being slack at training or something.
Granty

If he's not 100% I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't play on Sunday (for the Cowboys or the Young Guns).
