It's much more secure and safer to use than Internet Explorer.

It's easier to use and looks better.

It's faster.

It has better features (Internet Explorer finally incorporated tabbed browsing after it had been in Firefox for years).

Firefox abides by the W3 Web standards whereas Internet Explorer make up their own rules. This means that when developers try to code web pages they aren't displayed properly in IE and it's a nightmare to get them working.
