The only posts all day have been about ****ty beer!
How come there isn't much chat in this forum? We need more members!
How long is Ben Vaeau contracted?

Agree 100% with you mate. The members who keep having little love tussles need to shut up and talk footy rather than bag people's comments for no reason.
Not too sure about Vaeau but he is a keeper.
I live in London (formerly of Townsville) so I haven't been able to see many of the Cowboys' games. Where do you think they need to recruit new players? i.e. backs or forwards? They've got plenty of forwards but they always seem to be injured. I reckon a back up full back would be a good idea (any up and comers in NQ?).

It's grown a fair bit recently, a lot of people don't post though.
So far we have just under 200 new members this year.

IMO we need more backs Greg. Besides Ben Harris (who will play a lot of back row in his time here) I don't think they are defensively strong. Signing Willie Tonga was a bit risky. We all know he has the potential to be one of the best centres in the game because a few seasons ago he was, but whether he can get to his best or play a decent season of injury free football is a big question mark. We also need to recruit a workaholic forward who will guarantee us at least 100m gain each week and will make 25+ consistantly like a Laffranchi. At the moment most of our props just seem like impact players (Webb, Cashmere) and they have their good weeks and bad.

Spot on. The boys probably need our support all the more to be honest, but at least we're not playing GC side with a furious Prince!

Bloody forum nazi's LOL
Here's a question.......why did Manly move the game to the Central Coast? Why have the Bulldogs moved thiers to Brisbane?? ....and why is it always the Cowboys games that get moved? No wonder I don't get to see many games down here any more, they keep getting shifted hundreds of K's away.

To them playing at home and having an advantage isn't as important as making more $$$. I don't have a problem with it just makes the boys job a little easier.

watched benny elias on nrl on fox last night smashing the nrl bout worrying more bout dollars then the game. Had some great points, sick of watching origin games on tv at telstra stadium with empty seats in the background where u can have at the SFS where the game was born and spectacles are made. Seeing therabbitohs play the cowboys at the same venue with 30 000 empty seats in the background. Puts a dull shade of colour to the game. Brings a good point in the NRL worrying more about the quality of income then the quality of the game. Pleasing the sponsors b4 pleasing fans
Could'nt agree more, it's all about the $$$$ and the revenue/sponsorship stream these days.
Roo are you heading up to Bluetoungue on sat night??????

I've got a couple of problems with taking games back to the SFS - especially Origin games.
At a guess, about 25,000~ish seats at a Origin game go to sponsors, corporates and clubs.
As the SFS maximum capacity is about 40,000 or so, that would only leave about 15,000 seats for everyone else. At Stadium Australia (aka ANZ Stadium), its 80,000~ish capacity would leave about 55,000 seats for everyone else.
I like the cockroach fans as much as the next Queenslander , but I can't condemn them back to the days of it being impossible to get seats to watch an Origin game.
on a similar vein - a team playing in front of a 10,000 (or less) crowd at the SFS feels (over the TV broadcasts) exactly like a team playing in front of a 10,000 (or less) crowd at Stadium Australia.

Totally agree Granty. The real issue is let's relocate those teams to a city that hasn't got an NRL team of their own to cheer for & these fans will appreciate it.

Good way to kill a thread, move it to the other genres that no one uses

just because you don't use it doesn't mean no one else uses it. have a look at the post count. more posts in the saloon than any other category.

Oh lighten up cwhinge83. This thread was moved because it was in the wrong sub forum. End of story.
I was actually going to delete it, but someone else was much nicer than I am (hear that Roo? I've become a megalomaniac lol).
The lounge is a spam fest...embrace it and just run with it, rather than complaining.
Oh god I'm bitchy this morning lol

As the ol' saying goes 'can't please all of the people all of the time'. Just retitle a similar thread where you want it cphil83. LOL I think I just made up a new word. Is a retitle like what a retread is to tyres but for hooters?

No I'd just rather post about the cowboys on a cowboys forum. I find it more enjoyable then playing silly games

Yes I'm a whinger but so is everyone on this site expressing their views complaining when things go our way. It's good to get things off our chests.

You whinge, express your view & complain all you want cphil83 & don't let anyone stop you. It all encourages conversation & input from other users. It's a shame everyone who visits our site aren't as willing to share their views.
