Firman is playing without form and keeps bombing tries. All he does is pass it to Thurston and miss tackles. It seems as though he thinks his position is guarunteed.

McConnell lead Burleigh to a Grand Final in the Queensland cup, top the try scoring for the competition (not as a winger or fullback, as a halfback), and he has lead the Young Guns to a minor premiership. He can't be too bad of a player.

I say take a punt on someone who will do anything to be in first grade.

McConnell...

..but they've left it too late unfortunately... I rate McConnell very highly, and he'd fit in well with our style of play. He's got great footwork and could be very dangerous.

Then what would have been the point in signing Firman in the first place? I think he has bigger and better things to come in our colours. Yes he's bombed 3 tries in 2 weeks but he has got the potential in him to be the best halfback in the game and in the coming off-season Billy J will probably shed 10 kg's off him which should help!

I would have loved to see McConnell given a chance earlier in the year as he looked great each time I saw him play for the Guns this year.

Unfortunately for him, I think 2 weeks out from the finals isn't the time to change halfbacks.

Firman was a great player when he was at the Dragons. I know we are going into the finals but he still isn't settled. Someone in form is going to settle in first grade quicker than someone who isn't.

Not necessarily, we don't even know if Mconnel could cut it in the nrl. Firman has proved he is a good player, dropping him and stopping him from playing any games isn't going to get him into form.

If Firman has a good game for the guns, it could build his confidence. But then again, we don't want to spoil the young guns side and upset their line-up. I hope for poor Bennos sake that Luck has a good game.

Firman can't play for the young guns, he isn't allowed, he either plays first grade or nothing. (he could probably play the local comp though)

Firman has played 10 FG games in 2 years for 3 clubs.

Ya might want to give him time to settle before you try sell him to club number 4. The words "confidence" might be worth considering also.

He never qualified for the semi finals and there are a lot of Luck supporters up here, my old man the biggest fan of them all.
