NRL Chief Executive, David Gallop, has announced that a working group of club bosses has been formed, to look at the viability, of an EXRENAL DRAFT.
Also, do people agree or disagree with Parramatta CEO, Denis Fitzgerald, and his ongoing, obsessive claim that the "Melbourne Storm should be kicked out of the Competition".
Personally, I think Fitzgerald's claims are ironic and a knee-jerk reaction in trying to come to terms with Parramatta year-after-year of disappointment's ( namely, 2001 Grand Final ) and needs his head read on 3 counts..............
1) Melbourne Storm have more recently one a Grand Final - unlike Parramatta Eels - 1986 Eels - Storm 1999 ;
2) Melbourne Storm consistently make the top 8 - the Eels missed the cut last year and were over-hyped for the whole Season by Fitzgerald and Coach, Brian Smith ; and
3) Melbourne Storm meet the NRL's criteria to have a viable team in the competition - they're finally better than alot of other clubs - Souths Sydney, Newcastle and probably even the Panthers.
DENIS FITZGERALD - needs to move on, and consentrate on how they're ever going to win any silverware with an ageing, badly performing Coach in Brian Smith who has been at Parramatta for almost a decade, who has released ( under his watch ) players such as : Ian Hindmarsh, Brad Drew, Jason Cayless, Andrew Ryan, P.J Marsh ( lucky they convinced him to back ), Eric Grothe ( he was going nowhere at the Roosters so was convinced to return ), Jamie Lyon, Adam Dykes, Michael and Steve Witt and Chad Robinson ( same story as Eric Grothe ).
The Parramatta Eels, are consistently over-hyped in the Sydney Media, not just this Season, whilst the Melbourne Storm continue to go under most people's radar and perform to a much higher standard, consistently, each Season than bloody Parramatta.
This is just another smoke and glass mirrors trick from the Fitzgerald Administration out at Parramatta - he'll do anything to get his photo in the media and take the spotlight away from the external trumblings within his own club - just one problem though Denis, picking on the storm and coming out with baseless accusations is getting a bid old now and people have had a gut full of it !!
