Tahu ruled out of Tri-Nations

17 October 2005

Australian winger Timana Tahu has been ruled out of the rest of Tri-Nations rugby league series with a hamstring injury.

Tahu suffered the injury during Australia's 38-28 loss to New Zealand on Saturday.

The Kangaroos have not yet named a replacement for Tahu for the series which also features Great Britain.

They'll probably include Matt Sing, but I'm not sure if he'll be in the team. I'd bring Cooper into the side and shift either him or Tate to the wing.

I think they have learned they need more match fit players than they had on Friday night. I wouldn't be surprised if Tybo got a call up ahead of Matt Sing.

Nah they picked Hindmarsh....Cooper will come in Tate out to the wing.
Hindmarsh will probably replace Odonell when he is fit.

That's bad news for O'Donnell. He'll need a big game on Friday to secure his place in the 17 somewhere for the rest of the tri-nations.

Other bad news is that Mason is fit, really he is going to be a liability on the tour.

No way should Oddie be dropped, Kennedy should go before Oddie!

Without a doubt O'd definately should be there before Mason but in all honesty, he will have to have a blinder 2moro nite if Hindy / Mason is not to replace him. If Mason comes in over O'd, i WONT watch the rest of the series. Ok i probably will, but in disgrace :-P What ever happens, i am very proud of Luke for getting this far. He's done us all proud. But i have an instinct that they might put Hindy on the bench and keep Luke on the starting side. Only time will tell.

I think O'Donnell would be better use to us if he was in the starting side and were to play for almost the entire 80 minutes. If we're looking for impact, I would not blame the selectors for choosing Mason.

If there is one thing I'm disapointed with O'Donnell's game is that his charges are not as threatening as someone like Ben Kennedy... and he almost looks as if he's off balance sometimes. He's done it at times- especially during the last couple of finals series.. but I think he has the potential to be a great attacking weapon as well as a workhorse.
