Are politics and football somehow inter-connected ???? I think they are. There's alot of politics in rugby league commentary, generally - the weekly team/player selection process, of each of the 15 NRL Clubs, could easily be defined as a "political process". The Macquarie Dictionary, clearly states, Politicmeans "Science and studies the distribution of assets and engages in national affairs" - this could apply to salary limitations, club management and internal affairs of the coaching staffs', player selections and also representative selections ( NSW, QLD and Australia etc. ). As you can see, no wonder why John Howard is such a keen Dragons supporter and Kim "Bomber" Beazley is such a keen Knights supporter - rugby league and politics are clearly inter-connected !!
