8 weeks for dangerous throw (grade 2) on Billy Slater in the raiders loss to the melbourne storm last weekend. despite Slater's attempt to help woolford out the raiders hooker will spend the rest of the regular season on the sideline. what can you do?

if you have seen the footage (and no doubt if you havent you will see more of it on the footy show and news/sports tonight over the next couple of days) do you think the 8 weeks is fair? Interesting to note that should he have taken an early guilty plea he would have only had 6weeks and if he had successfully downgraded it to a grade 1 he would have missed just 3 ... unlucky but do the crime do the time. looked like a bloody good tackle though - hard but good, however billy did end up with his legs over the horizontal.

It's not really an 8 week suspension for the tackle.

It's more 3 weeks for the tackle + 5 weeks for it being Wollford's 6th (or is it 7th) suspension within the last 2 seasons.

Repeat offending is a dangerous thing these days.

I feel Woolford has been hard done by. His past crimes were a bit harsh as well. The tackle was solid but Slater did go into a 'dangerous' position. Grade 1 only.

But I think Woolford's downfall is that it looks like he really drove down in the tackle. To tell you the truth I cringed when I first saw it. It wouldn't have taken much to be far more serious for Slater.

Their was malicious intent in the lift and throw IMO, so I thought the 8-week ban enforced by the judiciary was all okay - Woolford's probably wasting his time contesting the length of the sentence anyway !!
