I agree with what Stuart said about Johns having the same bearing on a match that Lewis did. Sure, Johns hasn't done it over a long period of time- and I think that he has only brought his game to another level in the last 4-5 years or so. I always thought he was a bit overrated before that. But Joey's performance the other night was as dominant as any of Wally's imo. That's not saying he's the 'new' king or anything, but when he's at his best, he has the ability- like Lewis- to dominate a game at Origin level.

I have to disagree...big time........Jordan I don't know how old you are but, there will only ever be 1 Wally.......Joey does have ability but no more so than Sterlo or Steve Mortimer and neither could match Wally for his shear ability to control a game. It takes more than just skill as a player it takes guts and fortitude, passion and strength, devotion to the highest degree....Wally had it all, a one of a kind and if Wally was there on Origin 2 night QLD would have won convincingly. Qld at the moment don't have anybody to even go close to filling his shoes, and if Qld continue to think Joey is supernatural then they will lose this series. They need to realise that he is just the same as any other half back and tackle the bloke. We let him run too much and paid the price.............
If joey sticks it out then in time he may be accepted as one of the greats, considering he didn't make NSW'S 25 year list of Greats...and in my opinion that class of Lewis, Sterling, Mortimer, Kenny, Langer just doesn't exist at the moment....and Joey would have struggled playing against those players................In my opinion both Sterlo and Mortimer would have been chosen for Origin infront of Joey.

Thommo, you got it right.
Every time Joey took to the field in an origin match, he did so with a quality pack of players around him. Not once did he have to lift a team that were heavy underdogs, the way that King Wally did. To even think about calling Joey the 'new King' is ridiculous to say the least.
It's some bull**** NSW came up with to think that they have some 'pride' and I say 'pride', because they will never, ever have the Pride that the Mighty Maroons have.
No amount of ex-players giving them a talk, or bull**** media stories manufactured by the Gus and Sticky public relations team, or bull****, synthetic 'pride' will ever change that. King Joey. pfffft.
