CLYDESDALES FOLD
End of an era

The Toowoomba Clydesdales' could be on the verge of folding, after being forced to withdraw from the Queensland Cup.

The board today announced it can't afford to take part next year.

It follows a meeting with the Broncos management.

In a written statement, Chairman Frank Martin says after closely examining the club's fiancial position, the board has decided it can longer keep operating.

It's unclear when the Clydesdales will take to the field again.

Its trademarks and legal entities have been given to the TRL for safekeeping.

The Broncos have given the club fifty thousand dollars to meet its financial debts for this year.

Maybe that's why they had no new signings this year apart from McConnell - they couldn't afford anyone.

I guess the Broncos don't see they are viable to keep propping up.

Who's going to be their feeder club then I wonder?

I guess they'll be working fast to secure arrangements with other clubs in Brisbane.

The broncos have been lining aspley up for years. They have to move 1 year earlier then they had planned. They will not be playing at Aspleys home ground rather the Northern Eagles AFL club home ground at zillmere. The following year they will be playing out of norths aspley when the ground is built. Yet another club churned out by the broncs first wests now toowoomba. Being a Norths devils man im very happy the rumours weren't true about them moving to them.

Yeah that would have sucked, from wat i have heard the storm have been great to and for the devils. They got a good set up with Wavill High aswell. Did they dales have to go out there to train everyday? That would have sucked for some of the inner city based players
