Many Happy Returns

A HOST of familiar faces will rejoin the QRL ranks next season with former juniors and past representative stars returning to the Wizard Cup in droves - from 2004 Grand Final hero John Flint to boom youngsters Paoa Faamita, Luke Fatnowna and John Frith.

Includes progressive list of gains and losses for all clubs

Boasting experience in the NRL and Super League, the likes of Ben Czislowski, Dane Campbell, Deon Bird, Daniel Frame, Grant Wooden and George Tuakura are also back in the State League.

Continuing the theme of 'Happy Returns', it will be back to the future for Denny Lambert, Isaac Kaufmann, Colin Wilkie and Jackson Nicolau - all of whom have changed clubs, but will represent teams or regions from their past.

Wynnum Manly and North Queensland look to be the clear big players in the market thus far, while Norths will undergo a major overhaul after losing a number of key men, including skipper Anthony Boyd.

Burleigh has given a home to standout Toowoomba talent Liam Capewell, with his Valleys teammate Josh Schwerin lobbing at Tweed Heads.

Central has similarly cast its eye to the Country, taking on board a swag of players from the local Rockhampton and Gladstone leagues.

Having shown signs of progression last season, Souths Logan has snared some handy acquisitions in Brenton Stonier, Paul Rolls and Queensland Rangers forward Matthew Briggs.

Playing their cards close to their chest for now are Ipswich, Easts and Redcliffe, all of whom could be expected to add to their gains column substantially in coming weeks.

Among the young stars to watch out for in 2007 will be Tweed Heads will-o-the-wisp Shannon Walker and Wynnum Manly signing Faamita, a Queensland Under 19 selection earlier this year.

* Includes confirmed signings only.

Does this make you happier GCCK. So Scott Minto has been linked with the Young Guns, not the Cowboys. I don't quite think that is his intention in moving up to Townsville.

back to the point of the forum, lookin forward to the world cup and how much interest the QRL and NSWRL take in some of the stocks of "unknown" league nations. Thought came to me when i was playin on me PS2, i made a world cup and am owning the world with PNG at the moment. May be a shock to some ppl but there is some talent out there in the likes of PNG, Russia, Tonga etc
