Ahh the 2nd big game is comming. I'm very excited! Hope the Maroons smash them. However, I think our side is in serious trouble. I was wondering if you were the coach how would you try and win this game?
I'd encourage the players to use the football and throw it around. Similar to how the Tigers play. Use the edges and long balls. Run those ****roaches rugged. They've got to try something.
Also discussing strategies, what do you think about benching Lockyer for the first 20 mins and having Berrigan, who used to be QLD halfback, at five-eighth or Flannery for the opening stanza? This would save him for the most physical part of the game and it helps him save plenty in the tank for late in the second half. Also having Flannery there might help our defence in the opening stages.

Why the **** would you have your captain on the bench at the start of the game. You need him to settle the troops. :scratchhead:

Is he really that good of a captain grumblebum? If I was coach I'd probably hand the job to Thurston.
A captain has started from the bench before. Even at the Cowboys Tex started late against the Tigers.

Locky has been captain of the Broncs, Qld, and Australia with great success. At the moment the Cows aren't travelling very well so why would you put one of them as captain of Qld. I'm not saying that he wouldn't make a good captain someday just think Locky's experience in the big games is needed at the moment and that Qld has made too many changes as it is. Although I wouldn't mind them going to JT every now and then so we are not so predictable.:ponder:

As soon as the Qld players acknowledge that when JT wants the ball, he gets it we will be better off.

Okay Grumblebum it was just a suggestion.
However Greg Dowling, who was part of the maroon camp in origin 1, felt that Lockyer isn't that good of a captain and doesn't communicate with his players enough. I'd say he knows more inside knowledge on Locky than me. Since Locky has been captain QLD has won f@ck all and I think it might be time for a change.
I'd like to see Cameron Smith back himself more and get a bit of support attacking behind the ruck like he does for the Storm. He is a wonderfully talented player and he isn't leading the Dally M table for nothing.

Okay cphil, if i were coach i'd try and coach out that 'bennett' one out football bulls**t. Have more players in motion like NSW.
JT run to the line more, when players like Price and Petro ruck it up, have Webby or Nate, or Lillyman off there shoulder, keep NSW defence in 2 minds.
Since Alfie retired, we've lost all unpredictability, too one out and no support play. NSW must be laughing at half-time.
COME ON BOYS!! SMASH THOSE ****Y PRETTY BOYS!
