Clark appointed referee for Origin II

Tuesday, June 6, 2006 - 11:43 AM

Steve Clark has been appointed as referee for the second State of Origin rugby league match between NSW and Queensland at Suncorp Stadium next Wednesday.

Clark replaces fellow whistleblower Sean Hampstead, who controlled the opening game of the series. Hampstead will be the stand-by referee for the game.

Rod Lawrence and Steve Turner have been appointed as touch judges, with Graeme West the video referee.

It will be Clarke's fourth time in control of an Origin match.

i guess "penalty" we are not "penalty" gonna see a nice "penality" flowing game "penalty"

expect him to miss atleast half a dozen forward passes, knock ons etc. And will let one team tackle a player, lay on him, have a chat, have a cuppa tea and a bicky, read the newspaper then roll off when th eplease and the other side get penalised for breathing heavily on the player once he is held.

nothign wrong with him giving penalties if players break the rules.
if it means every little rule broken then he has to award the penalty.
